Esther Omane

Mrs. Esther Akua Kunadu Omane was born on February 29th, 1956, in Effiduase, Koforidua, in the Eastern Region of Ghana. She was the fourth of eight children to the late Mr. Henry Omane Yaw and Madam Gladys Baafi. She attended Effiduase Methodist School as a young girl. After completing elementary and high school, Esther attended Solomon Commercial School, where she earned a certificate in Secretary skills in business and office management. Esther worked as a Secretary for the Ghana Cocoa Marketing Board for 9 years and 6 months. She later started her own business, traveling to countries such as Lagos, Nigeria, and Ivory Coast to buy goods to sell in Accra, Ghana. She later started the Twinspeak company, a secondhand clothing business, where she ordered secondhand clothing from the US and Europe to sell in Accra, Ghana. In 1993, Esther came to the US to join her husband. She was later joined by her four children, Kay ELblessing, Anita Hockenberry, Cecil Acheampong, and Prince Acheampong, in the year 2000. Esther was brought up in a Christian home. Her parents were devoted Christians who served in the Methodist Church at Effiduase, Koforidua. She gave her life to Christ in her teens and joined Calvary Baptist Church when she moved to Accra, Ghana. She became a member of both Agape Life Ministries and Salvation Camp Ministry. She served as the women’s leader and treasurer in Salvation Camp Ministry and joined the intercessory ministry in Agape Life Ministries. Esther loved studying the Bible and encouraging family and friends with God’s word. She was a woman of great faith and instilled the love and fear of God in her children. In spite of her illness, Esther never lost faith in God and trusted God to the very end. Esther was a loving and caring person. She loved helping people and was a blessing to many who came across her path. Esther Akua leaves behind 4 children (Kay Perez ELblessing, Anita Hockenberry, Cecil Acheampong, and Prince Acheampong); one daughter-in-law (Esther ELblessing), 6 grandchildren (Samuel ELblessing, Sonia ELblessing, Sarah ELblessing, Dylan Hockenberry, and Alicen Hockenberry); 8 siblings: Margret Marfo (London), Elizabeth Adu Amprah (Germany), William Omane (USA), Juliet Omane Agyemang (London), Leticia Omane Asare (USA), Rev. Tom Omane (London), cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, Agape Life Ministries family, and Salvation Camp Ministries family. Well done, Esther Ekua Kunadu Omane. Rest well.
