Mr. Milton Jerome Morgan

Milton Morgan February 1, 1950 – March 30, 2017 On Thursday, March 30, 2017, God called to rest Milton Jerome Morgan. Milton Jerome Morgan was born February 1, 1950, the son of Frederick R. Morgan and the late Anna Mae Morgan. He was preceded in death by his sister Betty Jane Hamlin. He received his education in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. His early religious training was at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church of Laurel, Maryland. Milton had one daughter Monica, with former spouse Diane, and a son Jamere, with former spouse Sonia. Upon graduation from high school, he worked at John Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel, Maryland as a Stationary Engineer. He worked for over 25 years. Later, he worked as an independent contractor (handyman) until his illness. Milton was great with his hands, and could fix almost anything as a handyman to many family members and friends. For many of his family and friends, there will probably be a memory of Milton for years to come as you look at a touch of paint, a door he might have fixed, or some other repair he did in your home. Milton was devoted to his family and friends. The joy of his life was his granddaughter Bria, who she lovingly called her Pop. Even when he was still being stubborn and strong willed during his illness, he always found strength to make time to laugh and talk with Monica and Bria. He always looked forward to visits and phone calls from them. He often told Monica that I love all of my family very much, but you two and Jamere are my heart. During their visits, he would sometimes try to show Bria that he still had swagger, and would try to do a little dance move for her even when he did not have much strength. He was extremely proud of his nieces and nephews, and always wanted the best for each of them. He thoroughly enjoyed time with his father, siblings, and cousins. His father, sisters, and brothers meant so much to him, and he looked forward to visits with them. He had a unique relationship and love for each of his siblings. For the last few years of his life, he resided at Abundant Love Homes, and received love and care from Dada Lyonga and her husband Eddie. Milton grew to be more than a resident of Abundant Love, he was part of their family. During his leisure time, he enjoyed watching and participating in sports. His favorite game was Chess and he loved the competition. He also enjoyed eating good food and some of his favorite foods were cabbage and potato salad. Milton was a very smart and witty man who enjoyed debating and bantering with others about various topics. He leaves behind a loving and devoted daughter, Monica, son, Jamere, and granddaughter, Bria. He leaves to mourn his father, Frederick Morgan, his four sisters, Barbara Proctor, Joan Briscoe, Faye Houston, and Loretta Thomas; his two brothers, Frederick Morgan, Jr, and Anthony Morgan; two sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
