It is with profound sadness, that the Harmon and Carter families announce the peaceful passing of their matriarch Mrs. Lottie Bernice Carter Harmon affectionately called mommie, mom, ole ma, Sis Lottie, Aunt Coute, Aunty Lottie, Teacher Harmon, and Meh Harmon in her eighty-sixth year. Lottie was born on December 11, 1934 in Rembert, South Carolina and was called to glory on September 28, 2021, with songs and prayers surrounded by family at Adventist Healthcare White Oak Medical Center in Silver Spring, Maryland. She was predeceased by her parents Pastor Pearl Duncan Carter and Bishop John Carter Sr. and two younger sisters Mary Carter Isaac and Easter Carter Parkes. Lottie is survived by her husband of sixty-six years Jonathan Harmon Sr, brother John Carter Jr. (Lucy), sister Shirley Carter James (Sam), her children Cecil Harmon (Peggy), Cecelia Harmon, Jonathan Harmon, Jr. (Tanya) and Pearl Harmon (Sedia). She also leaves to mourn her loss her in-laws Charlotte Harmon, Malvenia Harmon, Randolph Harmon, Kotati Butler, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, including Adrienne Bernice Pridgen-Brown, cousins, a host of relatives and friends including Isaac A. David Elementary school community, and St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Liberia.
