Lathersir Mae Mackey Shropshire

March 14, 1946 - January 24, 2022

Lathersir Mae Mackey Shropshire was born in Washington, DC on March 14, 1946, to the late Rev. Thomas David Mackey and Mayfair Jones, she departed this life at the age of 75 on January 24, 2022. Lathersir, moved to Heath Spring (Lancaster County), SC as a child with her family and was raised by her paternal grandparents. She attended and graduated from Hillside Senior High School where she played on the basketball team and was number one in her league. She also attended Midlands Technical College where she earned an associate degree in auto mechanics, also she was certified in childcare. Lathersir was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was the oldest of 6 siblings, she was very loving, caring and nurturing of her loved ones. She accepted Christ at a young age at New Hope Baptist Church of Heath Springs, SC. She later became an Evangelist, carrying the gospel and to many she was known as the prayer warrior, she was a beacon of light for all who knew her. She raised many children, she touched many lives no matter who you were or where you were from, she always had food for the hungry, clothing for those who needed, shelter for the homeless. That’s just who Ma (Ms. Pat) was.
