Betty Reaves

Betty Lue Reaves was the eldest daughter to the late James & Lila Beaufort. The world was blessed on May 13th, 1950 the day she was born. Betty was born in Alcolu, South Carolina. She departed this life on August 17th, 2020 after a long battle of illnesses At a very young age she came to Maryland with her parents to start a new life. She received her education from Baltimore City public school graduating from Douglas high school. Later she met John Frank Howard and was blessed with two daughters. She works several small jobs to support her children. In 1967 she met the love of her life Eddie Carlee Reaves, they married four children came from this union. Betty worked for US&G Floor Systems Inc. as an inspector until she retired to come home to raise her small children in 1988. She had so many talents for her friends and her family. She was a cook, a lawyer, designer, referee, seamstress', banker, card player you name it she did it just to make us smile. After the loss of her husband Betty moved to St Louis Missouri where she raised her last two children. Her life there revolves around her grandchildren. She never let the children go to a babysitter because she was the best person for the job. Her 17 grandchildren were her life. She was mom to anyone. She didn't meet any strangers. Betty once bought a half-dressed woman home that was running from her abuser. She lookout for everyone. She was a very eloquent beautiful woman who like to dress travel and decorate to the fullest. She was the Hostess with the Mostest. Betty never bit her tongue she called a Spade a Spade. She raised all her siblings half their children her children and most all her grandchildren. Mother was her calling She leaves to mourn her daughters: Sharon William (Lonnie), Linda Beasley (Kevin), Lisa Liddell (Lawrence) and Jamise Chappelle (Denise) her sons the late Kevin Vincent Reaves (Christina) and Brandon Reaves, two sisters Alice Johnson (Albert) and Viola Bossard (Kenneth), four brothers James junior, David, Joseph, and Kenneth Beaufort, one aunt Ruth Beaufort, one sister in law, Ida Pearl Reaves and a very special friend Lloyd Sharp and a host of grandchildren's cousins nieces nephews relatives and friends “Surely goodness in love will follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the House of the Lord forever Psalms 23:6
