Rachel Mohan

"Rachel Mohan, a beloved daughter, sister, and friend, passed away on Wednesday, April 10th, 2024, after her battle with cancer. She was just 17 years old. Rachel was born on January 6th, 2007. She was born prematurely at just 25 weeks old. Despite the many surgeries she endured during the first 2 years of her life, anyone who met Rachel only knew her as a smiling, bubbly baby. From the moment she was born, her inner joy seemed to always shine bright. Anyone who met her fell in love with her instantaneously. As she grew up, Rachel became a cheeky, fun-loving, animated storyteller who loved singing and dancing. Rachel was also a fashionista from a young age, a quality that only continued to evolve. Rachel was artistically and creatively gifted. As a little girl, she created her own music and sang to the tune of her heart. She used combs as guitars and karaoke mics to sing. In her teenage years, she pursued drawing and painting. She painted the family dog, Ethan whom she loved dearly, painted the walls of her room with her favorite anime characters, and created intricate glass paintings. Of the many art forms she dabbled in, her favorite was digital art, where she meticulously crafted masterpieces with her mini Wacom tablet. She later expressed that upon her high school graduation, she wanted to pursue a major in Graphic Design. Rachel also later expressed interest in playing the piano and learning on her new electric guitar. Rachel was a girl of many talents. Following her diagnosis on December 7th, 2023, she continued to draw and paint to the best of her ability. Even at her lowest points, she never let the side effects from her chemotherapy ruin her spirits. Rachel persevered and had the strength and desire to keep living; she continued to make plans for her future. Rachel had high hopes of one day being cancer-free. She was and is loved and cherished by many. Rachel leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience that will forever remain in the hearts of her Mother, Thankamani, her Father, Mohan, her Sister, Olivia, and her cherished fur-bestie Ethan. Rachel in our hearts is a legend!"
