CHRISTOPHER SCOTT RICE opened his eyes for the first time on February 20, 1965. And closed them for the last time on May 8, 2026. Scott was born in Baltimore, Maryland, the third child of Mitchell Thomas Rice, Sr. and Annie Evenlyn Olivia Rice. He received his education in the Baltimore City Public School system. Graduating cum laude from the Southern High School. Scott first employment opportunity was with Edward and Shirley’s Super Thrift, in the Cherry Hill shopping center. He was well known throughout Cherry Hill for his work at the store and with the youth of the community. Coaching and running a youth baseball league. Scott married his soul mate, the former Victoria Elizabeth Thornton. On July 11, 1992. Vicky gave Scott two beautiful daughters and a son. Vera, Eric and Keyair. Scott received Christ as his personal Savior at an early age. Attending the First Baptist Church in Cherry Hill for most of his formative years. He was an avid Sunday School student. As well as singing on the Clark Jr. Male Chorus and ushering on the Youth and Young Adult Usher Board. But he was best known for his rhymes, as part of the church’s courtesy guild. Later Scott and Vicky joined Gospel Tabernacle where his brother served as Assistant to the Pastor. When his brother became pastor at First Church of the Brethren, Scott and Vicky joined. Serving as Deacon Scott and bringing their grandchildren and other family members with them. Forming the baddest marching ushers in Baltimore. When his brother was assigned as the new Pastor of The New Christian Church. Scott and Vicky joined that church. A faithful member of the male chorus, the music team and played the Saxophone for the church. Truly showing his love for family. He absolutely loved sports with football being his favorite. If you knew anything about Scott, you would know he was the biggest Dallas Cowboy fan this side of Big D. He loved basketball. Scott once said he was Pomphrey’s all-time leading three-point shooter. He played softball and was the Player Coach of the 2007 Championship team at Gospel Tabernacle. A league they participated in for over twenty years. Scott also Bowled and was a master gamer. Madden being one of his favorites. Scott was employed in various jobs before his last one being Catholic Relief Services. He enjoyed time with family and friends. He leaves in love: his wife, Victoria Rice; mother, Annie O.; father, Mitchell, Sr.; bonus mom, Cheryl; two daughters, Vera Mounds (Gregory), and Keyair Ward (Maurice); son, Eric Hope (Ashley); two sisters, Leslie and Robin; three brothers, Mitchell Jr., Elliott (Sandra), and Ruben; sister-in-law, Valerie; three brothers-in-law, Malcom, Gregory and John; eighteen grandkids; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, great grandchildren and friends.
