Darnell Waters

Darnell Waters, the son of Masako Waters and the late George Waters was born on April 15, 1956, in Sendai, Japan. He left this life suddenly on Saturday, January 5, 2019. “The Lord took his angel home” Darnell received his education from Southwestern High School, Lincoln Technical Institute, Community College of Baltimore County and Penn Foster College. Darnell was known by all as someone who loved life, with a special love for his family. He especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He had a kind and gentle spirit that was always cordial and gracious to all. He would always bring a ray of sunshine and happiness everywhere he went. He was very charismatic and a comedian that brought humor to family gatherings and parties. He loved sports and played most sports to include wrestling, football, baseball, fishing, and golf. You could often find him on the golf course because he had a true passion for golfing. His dream in retirement was to buy a home and boat on the water in Annapolis, Maryland, and sail the open seas. Darnell had a long and distinguished career; anything he set his mind to he accomplished. His multifaceted career included serving as a Quality Insurance Inspector, Automotive Mechanic and as a Bus Driver with the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) in Baltimore, Maryland. He further advanced his MTA career into supervision management before retiring in 2011. Once retired, Darnell received his certification in home improvement. In addition, he served as President of the Snowden Woods Preserve Homeowners Association, where he governed the community for seven years. During this time, he became an Entrepreneur establishing his business DDD Novelties. Darnell’s creative and entrepreneurial spirit led him to invent many products, most notably “The Cell Phone Buddy” a secure cell phone accessory that prevents loss and damage to cell phones. In 2016, it was this invention that garnered Darnell a Merit Award from the INPEX International Inventors Convention. In addition, his love and passion for sports led him to create a lucrative business selling sports memorabilia. Darnell was the proud father of four sons Patrick Sr., Darius Sr., Donovan and Damien, and one daughter Tiffany. Darnell married twice, first to Ms. Denise Jones, the mother of his three youngest sons (Darius Sr., Donovan and Damien). He later entered into Holy Matrimony with Ms. Renee A. Robinson on March 5, 2001, who brought to this marriage her daughter Tiffany.
