Byron Ambrose

Byron Franklin Ambrose was born on Thursday, July 4, 1963, in Baltimore, Maryland. Our beloved Byron transitioned to be in the presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, November 11, 2021. Byron is the son of John Lewis Ambrose (deceased) and Cattie Ambrose. He was 4th in line of 6 children to John and Cattie Ambrose. Byron graduated from Lake Clifton Senior High School. He matriculated at Essex Community College in Criminal Justice. Byron’s employment included grocery clerk at Giant Food Inc., construction at Helping Hands Inc., crane operator at Main Steel Inc. Byron also worked at the Baltimore Downtown Partnership. Byron, in his early years, loved art and enjoyed sketching and drawing. Byron also loved to work-out and dress up. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved his three children: Chantay and Aliyah, the entrepreneurs, and his namesake, Byron Jr. Byron was quiet and studious yet voiced his opinions well. Byron was baptized at Mt. Calvary Star Baptist Church. He sang on the Youth Choir and was an usher. He attended Sunday School and the BTU (Baptist Training Union). Byron enjoyed walking like his grandfather, Vonnie McCormick who often told the family stories of walking for miles in the country. Byron looked like he could be his grandfather’s twin. Byron also enjoyed running around Lake Montebello. He boxed at the Mac Lewis Boxing Gym. He loved working out, music and eating jellybeans. Byron knew and loved God Almighty and now rests peacefully in His arms. Byron leaves to mourn: his mother (Ma) , Cattie Ambrose; daughters, Chantay Ambrose and Aliyah Ambrose; son, Byron Ambrose Jr.; granddaughters: Chaniya Palmer, Chanelle Teal and Nayomi Brown-Ambrose; sister, Jenette Young (Charles); brother, Juan Ambrose (Rosalind); sister, Dr. Sherri Holt (Earl Jr.), brother, Johnathan Ambrose (deceased); sister, Carissa Matthews (Aaron); nephews: Earl Holt III, Keith Holt, Charles Young II, Sion Matthews (deceased); nieces: Patrice Tucker, Arianna & Victoria Matthews; great nephew, Levii Matthews; great aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends including the mother of his eldest daughter, Chantay… Robbin Lucas, and mother of Byron Jr. and Aliyah… Sharon Franks.
